After dinner, we headed up the canyon to our destination – Estes Park, Colorado. It was sunset, and we headed straight for our hotel. We’d gotten a great deal on a suite at Brynwood on the River. Brynwood has cabins and a small lodge with a few rooms. We were in the lodge, which was perfect for us. We had a room upstairs.
Let me give you a quick tour of our home for the next few days. When we walked in, we were in the main room, which had a full-sized bed as well as a pull-out sofa. The kids would be sleeping in here. (ignore all our “stuff” piled on the floor.)
Then there was a small hallway with a kitchenette (fridge, microwave, toaster, and counter space).
At the end of the hall was a storage area for suitcases and a sink and mirror. Next to that was the bathroom.
Off to the right of the hallway was the other bedroom. It had a queen bed and a dresser.
I know what you are thinking, and yes it is a little…rustic. But it was really charming and fit in really well with the mountain scenery. It was also clean, which is always a plus. I was a little worried that the walls would be thin, but we heard nothing! There was also a nice pool that we used a couple of times.
But the best part was the view. We had the most amazing mountain scene right outside our window!! You can’t beat that!
Tomorrow we will head out and explore the mountains!
